Pete and Linda Lambson, along with Past District Governor Arthur Jones, took the new Primary Technology Competition into Year 6 at North Road Primary School on Wednesday 20th June. They were joined by the current Assistant Governor, Richard Attenborough for the morning session where the children had to use scoring, cutting and glueing skills to make card corners. They then had to measure accurately before using bench hooks and saws to cut square wood to size. The children worked in groups using clamps, cool melt glue guns, square wood and card corners to construct cuboids. They also used a funnel, coffee filter papers, sand, grit and stones to make a filter for the dirty water. The winners were the team who collected the greater quantity of the cleanest water after 90 seconds of filtration.
