A Photographer’s Journey

This evening, Carnforth Rotary enjoyed an absolutely fascinating talk and PowerPoint presentation entitled “A Photographer’s Journey” by our very own Ken McGrath. He began his journey in 1959 with a Voigtlander camera and has been using a Canon 5D Mk 3 for the past 10 years, as well as an iPhone.
He started taking photos in his job as a chemist at the Power Station, where he was expected to record images of plant inspections as well as visitors. Over this time, he learnt various camera techniques including how to use light for good photos and how to develop film.
Ken gave a brief outline of Digital development beginning in 1975, several tips on iPhone photography and an insight to how he works.
We were very privileged to see a number of his stunning photos which he puts into yearbooks and were informed that he is now looking forward to improving his bird photography skills.
Thank you Ken, absolutely fabulous.
