New Leader at the Helm for Carnforth Rotary

At our handover meeting on Thursday 4th July, President Cliff Randall handed over to President Elect Pete Lambson. Cliff outlined some of the club’s may achievements over the year marred only by the loss of 6 members primarily due to relocation and ill health.

Cliff presented flowers to our club secretary, Linda Lambson and also to his wife and fellow Rotarian, Heather.

Linda Lambson was presented with her President Elect’s jewel and PDG Arthur Jones becomes President Nominee.

President Pete aims to cement our good and valued relationship with the greater Carnforth Community and our close ties with our adjacent Rotary Cubs, Lancaster, Lancaster Loyne and Lunesdale, while maintaining our strong presence within District 1190.

Carnforth Rotary will continue to support young people in the town and surrounding area. Maintain our strong presence of our 4 RotaKids Clubs with a potential of 2 more next Academic year. Our current Interact Club at Carnforth High School requires nurturing and we need to broaden our remit to develop a community one, and hopefully a Rotaract Club.

Carnforth Rotary will continue our strong facilitation in the pursuit of excellence for our young people in Technology, Young Chef, Youth Speaks, Choir Competition, RYPEN and RYLA and giving the opportunity to yet more Developing Teenagers, with support for the National Citizens Service.

We need to continue to support our fellow “Senior Citizens” and seek their inclusion in the broader community.
Carnforth Rotary will help and support local Agencies tackling social needs within the community especially where Government Support is lacking and help to facilitate good health.

We will manage and encourage our local Human Resources and Charities to enable the Car Boot to run smoothly and efficiently to the greater good off all in addition to the encouragement of local groups to help Santa and his Sleigh to bring the Festive Season to all.

President Pete said that he is “deeply honoured in the trust you have placed in me to help our club prosper and grow and look forward to working with all members to ensure the future of Carnforth Rotary”.
