Carnforth Rotarians are enthusiastic, fun-loving and active volunteers who get together most weeks of the year for dinner, fellowship and professional networking. We have a varied programme of informative guest speakers and enjoy social events such as ladies nights, day trips to local attractions and theatre trips.

Our members give their time and talents to serve the local and international community, in order to help those less fortunate. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self” which conveys the humanitarian spirit of over 1.2 million Rotarians throughout the world.

Rotary is a non-religious, non-political organisation that is one of the largest non-governmental providers of humanitarian, educational and cultural support programmes in the world. Rotarians encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help to build goodwill and peace.

Youth Service projects for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. We support youth competitions, training and job development, provide mock interviews and  encourage the development of skills in employment.

The Youth Service Committee has to date chartered 2 RotaKids clubs at Arkholme and Slyne with Hest Primary Schools and in June 2015 chartered our first Interact Club at Carnforth High School.

It is also responsible for organising:

The 22nd Annual Young Musician Competition will be held on 4 March 2017 at North Road Primary School, Carnforth. Support is drawn from schools and music tutors in the North Lancashire and Cumbria area from which competitors are drawn. Competitors are divided into three age groups plus a group for duos/trios, and range in age from about 9 to 18. Their musical standard is impressive, and is encouraged by constructive adjudication.
