International Project – Tanzania
Transforming lives with the gift of mobility
Carnforth Rotary helps worthy causes both in the UK and oversees, and has been collecting used wheel chairs, crutches and other mobility aids to help people of all ages in developing countries for the past three years. Working with our Queens Award winning partner PhysioNet, we have now collected enough physiotherapy and mobility equipment from local sources, for our next shipment. This includes wheel chairs, crutches, walking frames and other essential equipment ready to ship to St Elizabeth’s hospital in Arusha, Tanzania.
Expats from the UK will then oversee distribution to those in need.
We have raised most of the funding needed for sea freight from the UK to the port of Tanga on the mainland of Tanzania, north of the island of Zanzibar and need your help to raise £800 and complete the funding. Any additional funds raised will be utilised to help continue the collection and distribution of mobility aids.
