At our club meeting on Thursday 9th May, Ian Johnson, Chair of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust gave an informative overview of the work of the trust.
The Foundation Trust is one of 120 throughout England and is responsible for looking after 365.000 residents and 18 million visitors per annum in North Lancashire and South Cumbria covering an area of 1,000 square miles. The Trust has a budget of £500 million with 6000 employees treating approximately 98,000 in patients; 520,000 out patients and 89,000 casualties at A & E.

Immediate Past President Kath Bromilow standing in for President Cliff Randall, had great pleasure in presenting a cheque to Carol Slinger from Halton Community Centre for £614 to purchase new chairs for the centre. The money comprised a donation of £500 and £114 for providing members to assist with our annual car boot sale.
